Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-07-29

Welcome to Readineer. These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Readineer's website, assessment flow, reports, feedback, and related services.

By creating an account, submitting work, purchasing a service, or using Readineer, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Readineer.

1. Who we are

Readineer provides Feedback tied to your actual data-engineering work. The service is designed to help individual data engineers understand strengths, gaps, and improvement priorities across a structured data-engineering rubric.

For questions about these Terms, contact us at:

Email: hello@readineer.com

2. What Readineer does

Readineer reviews submitted data-engineering work, which may include SQL, Python, pipeline code, repository work, written answers, resumes, role targets, or related technical materials.

Readineer may provide:

  • a structured assessment or diagnostic workflow;
  • a rubric-based review across data-engineering dimensions;
  • evidence-linked findings based on the submitted work;
  • confidence, disagreement, or “not assessed” signals where applicable;
  • a written report or improvement plan;
  • optional human review, where offered;
  • optional paid services, where clearly shown before purchase.

Readineer is a diagnostic and learning-support product. It is not a hiring decision tool, employment guarantee, certification, background check, professional qualification, or prediction of future job performance.

3. Beta status

Readineer may be offered as a beta product. During beta, features, scoring methods, reports, pricing, availability, and workflows may change.

Beta reports are intended to be useful and evidence-linked, but they may contain errors, omissions, incomplete findings, or imperfect judgments. You should review the report critically and use your own judgment before relying on it.

We may update, suspend, limit, or discontinue beta features at any time.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding contract to use Readineer.

Readineer is intended for individual users. Employers, recruiters, schools, training providers, or other organizations may not use Readineer reports to make hiring, admission, promotion, compensation, termination, or similar decisions unless we have entered into a separate written agreement with them.

5. Your account

You may need to sign in using your email address, magic link, Google sign-in, or another supported authentication method.

You are responsible for:

  • providing accurate account information;
  • keeping access to your email and login method secure;
  • all activity under your account;
  • notifying us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

We may suspend or restrict access if we reasonably believe your account is being misused, used unlawfully, or used in a way that creates risk for Readineer, other users, or third parties.

6. Your submissions

You may submit technical work, files, repositories, code, resumes, answers, or related material to Readineer.

You retain ownership of your submitted work. These Terms do not transfer ownership of your submissions to Readineer.

By submitting material, you give Readineer permission to process, store, analyze, display, and use that material as needed to provide the service, generate reports, improve reliability, troubleshoot issues, prevent abuse, and operate Readineer.

You are responsible for making sure you have the right to submit the material. Do not submit:

  • employer code or client work unless you have permission;
  • production secrets, API keys, passwords, tokens, credentials, or private certificates;
  • confidential third-party information;
  • personal data of other people unless you have a lawful basis to provide it;
  • regulated health, financial, government-identification, or similarly sensitive data unless we explicitly agree in writing.

Readineer is designed to assess data-engineering work, not to store secrets or confidential production systems. You should remove or redact sensitive information before submitting.

7. Use of AI and human review

Readineer may use software systems, AI models, structured rubrics, automated analysis, human reviewers, or a combination of these methods to generate feedback.

The report is based only on the work submitted and the signals available at the time of review. If a skill is not demonstrated in the submission, Readineer may mark it as “not assessed” rather than assuming that you lack the skill.

AI-assisted output can be wrong, incomplete, inconsistent, or overly confident. Human review can also involve judgment calls. Readineer tries to make findings auditable by linking them to evidence where possible, but you are responsible for reviewing the output before relying on it.

8. Reports and feedback

Readineer reports are for personal learning, interview preparation, portfolio improvement, and skill-development purposes.

A Readineer report does not guarantee:

  • a job offer;
  • interview performance;
  • promotion readiness;
  • seniority level;
  • compensation outcome;
  • employer evaluation;
  • acceptance into any program;
  • future professional performance.

Hiring outcomes depend on many factors outside Readineer's control, including role requirements, market conditions, communication skills, interview format, company preferences, timing, and other candidate signals.

9. Payments

Some Readineer services may be free. Some may require payment. Paid services, prices, currency, taxes, and what is included will be shown before checkout.

Payments may be processed by Razorpay or another payment provider. Readineer does not store your full card, UPI, bank, or payment instrument details.

Unless otherwise stated at checkout:

  • prices are listed in INR;
  • payments are one-time payments;
  • taxes, if applicable, may be added or included as shown;
  • access to a paid service begins after successful payment confirmation.

Payment providers may apply their own terms, processing timelines, failed-payment handling, chargeback processes, and refund mechanisms.

10. Refunds and cancellations

Because Readineer provides digital diagnostic services, refund eligibility depends on the status of the service.

Unless a different refund policy is shown at checkout:

  • if you paid but the assessment or report has not yet started, you may request cancellation and refund by emailing us;
  • if report generation, human review, or assessment processing has already started, refunds may be limited or unavailable;
  • if the final report has already been delivered, payments are generally non-refundable;
  • if we are unable to provide the paid service due to an issue on our side, we will either provide a replacement service or issue a refund;
  • failed or duplicate payments will be handled according to the payment provider's process.

Refund requests should be sent to:

Email: hello@readineer.com

Include the email used for payment, payment reference if available, and a brief explanation.

Approved refunds will be processed through the original payment method where possible. Bank and payment-provider timelines may vary.

12. Readineer content and intellectual property

Readineer owns or licenses the website, product design, assessment materials, rubrics, report formats, prompts, scoring systems, written content, branding, and other service materials.

You may use your own report for personal learning, interview preparation, and portfolio improvement.

You may not copy, reproduce, sell, publish, or redistribute Readineer's assessment materials, rubrics, report templates, product workflows, or proprietary content without written permission.

13. Feedback you give us

If you send us suggestions, comments, bug reports, ideas, or feedback, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation. This helps us improve the product.

We will not treat general product feedback as confidential unless we separately agree in writing.

14. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal data. By using Readineer, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.

You should read the Privacy Policy before submitting resumes, repositories, code, or other technical material.

15. Third-party services

Readineer may rely on third-party providers for hosting, authentication, storage, email, payments, analytics, AI processing, scheduling, or other product operations.

These third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services that we do not control, but we choose providers to support the operation, security, and reliability of Readineer.

16. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Readineer useful and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.

The service may be unavailable because of maintenance, security issues, infrastructure failures, third-party provider outages, product changes, or other reasons.

We may change, add, remove, limit, or discontinue features at any time.

17. Disclaimers

Readineer is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and error-free operation.

Readineer does not provide legal, financial, employment, immigration, or professional career-placement advice.

You are responsible for how you interpret and use Readineer's feedback.

18. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Readineer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including lost profits, lost opportunities, loss of data, reputational harm, employment outcomes, or business interruption.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Readineer's total liability for any claim related to the service will not exceed the amount you paid to Readineer for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

If you used Readineer for free, Readineer's total liability will be limited to INR 1,000 or the minimum amount permitted by applicable law, whichever is higher.

19. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify Readineer from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from:

  • your misuse of the service;
  • your violation of these Terms;
  • your submission of material you did not have the right to provide;
  • your infringement of third-party rights;
  • your use of Readineer reports in a prohibited or misleading way.

20. Termination

You may stop using Readineer at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, create risk for the service, misuse reports, infringe rights, or use the product in a way that is unlawful or harmful.

After termination, sections that by nature should continue will continue, including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, governing law, and dispute resolution.

21. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.

Your continued use of Readineer after the updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.

22. Governing law and jurisdiction

Subject to applicable law, disputes relating to these Terms or Readineer will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
