Readineer is designed to give data engineers evidence-linked feedback on submitted work. Because the product may involve resumes, code, repositories, written answers, and technical submissions, we want this policy to be clear about what we collect and why.
If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use Readineer.
1. Who we are

2. What personal data we collect
We collect personal data depending on how you use Readineer.
Account information
This may include:
- name;
- email address;
- login method;
- Google account identifier, if you use Google sign-in;
- account creation date;
- account status.
Profile and career context
This may include:
- target role;
- years of experience;
- technical stack;
- resume or profile details;
- job-search context you choose to provide;
- preferences or goals related to data-engineering readiness.
Assessment and submission data
This may include:
- SQL, Python, pipeline, repository, or architecture work;
- written answers;
- uploaded files;
- links or repository content you provide;
- code comments, filenames, folder structures, and technical metadata;
- assessment responses;
- report outputs;
- reviewer notes, where applicable.
You should not upload secrets, credentials, production tokens, passwords, private certificates, confidential employer code, client data, or personal data of other people unless you have permission and a lawful basis to do so.
Payment information
If you purchase a paid service, payment information is processed by Razorpay or another payment provider.
We may receive limited payment-related information such as:
- payment status;
- transaction reference;
- amount paid;
- currency;
- invoice or receipt details;
- billing contact information.
We do not store your full card, UPI, bank account, or payment instrument details.
Communications
If you contact us, we may collect:
- your email address;
- message content;
- support requests;
- feedback;
- bug reports;
- scheduling information, if applicable.
Usage and technical data
We may collect basic usage and technical information, such as:
- pages visited;
- approximate time of visit;
- browser and device type;
- referring page;
- general location derived from technical signals;
- error logs;
- performance logs;
- security logs.
3. How we use personal data
We use personal data to:
- create and manage your account;
- authenticate you;
- provide the assessment or diagnosis;
- analyze submitted work against Readineer's rubric;
- generate reports, findings, and improvement plans;
- show evidence-linked feedback;
- process payments and receipts;
- communicate about your account, assessment, report, or support requests;
- improve product quality, reliability, and user experience;
- debug errors and prevent abuse;
- maintain security;
- comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations;
- enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not use your private submissions to make hiring decisions about you. Readineer reports are for personal learning and diagnostic use.
4. AI-assisted processing
Readineer may use AI-assisted systems, software analysis, structured rubrics, human review, or a combination of these methods to process submissions and generate feedback.
This means your submitted work may be processed by systems that help identify patterns, gaps, evidence, confidence, disagreement, and improvement priorities.

5. Legal bases and purposes

6. Where data is stored and processed
Based on our current infrastructure, Readineer may use:
- Supabase for account and profile data, currently hosted in the Asia Pacific — Mumbai region;
- Cloudflare R2 for files such as resumes, submissions, and report PDFs;
- Resend for email delivery;
- Razorpay for payment processing;
- Cloudflare Web Analytics for basic website analytics.
Your data may be processed in India and other countries where our service providers operate. Data protection laws in those countries may differ from those in your location.
7. How we share personal data
We do not sell or rent your personal data.
We may share personal data with:
Service providers
We share data with vendors who help us operate Readineer, such as hosting, storage, authentication, email, payments, analytics, AI processing, and support providers.
These providers are allowed to use personal data only as needed to provide services to Readineer, subject to their own contractual and legal obligations.
Human reviewers
If your assessment includes human review, a reviewer may see your submitted work, profile context, report content, and related notes as needed to provide the service.
Legal and safety reasons
We may disclose data if required to:
- comply with law;
- respond to lawful requests;
- enforce our Terms;
- protect rights, safety, security, or property;
- investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
Business transfers
If Readineer is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will take reasonable steps to ensure the receiving party handles personal data consistently with this policy.
8. Aggregated and anonymized data
We may use aggregated or anonymized information to understand product quality, rubric calibration, common skill gaps, report accuracy, and service performance.
Aggregated or anonymized data does not identify you directly.
We may retain and use aggregated or anonymized data after your account is deleted, provided it no longer reasonably identifies you.
9. Cookies and analytics
Readineer may use cookies or similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, analytics, or product functionality.
Readineer uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for basic website analytics. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies. We may also use essential cookies or similar technologies where needed for login, account security, and product functionality.
If we later add cookie-based analytics, advertising pixels, session replay, or behavioral tracking, we will update this Privacy Policy before enabling them.
10. Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law.

We will action deletion requests within 30 days where reasonably possible, subject to legal, tax, accounting, payment, security, backup, and dispute-resolution requirements.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data.
These may include:
- access controls;
- authentication protections;
- encrypted transport where supported;
- restricted access to submissions and reports;
- vendor controls;
- monitoring for abuse or security issues;
- separation of user data where practical.
No internet service is perfectly secure. You should avoid submitting secrets, credentials, production tokens, confidential employer code, or unnecessary personal data.
If we become aware of a personal-data breach that requires notice, we will notify affected users and/or authorities as required by applicable law.
12. Your rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to:
- access personal data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
- request deletion or erasure;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- request a copy of your data;

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Some requests may be limited by legal, security, fraud-prevention, payment, dispute-resolution, or technical requirements.
13. California privacy note
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, depending on whether Readineer is legally subject to it.
California privacy rights can include the right to know what personal information a business collects and how it is used and shared, the right to delete certain information, the right to opt out of sale or sharing, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights.
Readineer does not sell personal data. Readineer does not currently share personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising.

15. Children
Readineer is not intended for children or users under 18.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to Readineer, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Readineer may link to or integrate with third-party services such as payment providers, authentication providers, hosting providers, email providers, analytics providers, repository platforms, or scheduling tools.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services that we do not control. You should review their privacy policies before using them.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
Your continued use of Readineer after the updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you acknowledge the updated policy.
