Yes. Kafka tracks a consumer’s progress using committed offsets. If a consumer processes messages but crashes before committing their offsets, another consumer can read those messages again.
This is why at-least-once processing requires careful offset management and idempotent downstream operations. With auto-commit, offsets may even be committed before processing finishes, so your processing and commit strategy matters.

When Spark joins two large datasets, rows with matching keys often need to be brought into the same partition. This involves moving data across the cluster, called a shuffle.
That movement can be expensive. Slow joins can also result from uneven data distribution, memory pressure, or unexpectedly large outputs.
